My Customers.
I can service just about any vehicle on the road, with Decades of experience here in Tallahassee, including everything from automotive mechanics to big rig diesel semis. Most of my customers are Jeep owners, as the off-road community keeps spreading around much appreciated word-of-mouth referals. I also have a number of repeat diesal truck servicing customers.
My Services
Here at the shop, we do engine swaps, axle gear swaps, air conditioning, brakes, whatever you may need. All our customers get the benefit of my ASE Certified Master Technician hands and eyes on your vehicle, and being the owner of Wrench Blister’s means I have a vested interest in making sure everything is done correctly, the first time, everytime.
My Journey
I didn’t have the initial funding to open Wrench Blisters, or any other shop, although this was my life’s goal from childhood. Following in my father’s footsteps of being a mechanic as a profession, we opened up Harris Automotive on South Monroe Street in the early 2000s. We leased the shop and heavily invested in equipment to service a large fleet vehicle customer long term. The shop owner ended up in forclosure, and we were unable to financially recover from that in time to save that venture.
Fortunately, the investment I made in myself, is not dependent on whether times get tough. My background experience, my educational experience and my dedication to mastering every skillset to pass all nine area ASE Certification exams kept me in demand. People with the money to buy shops, but without the skills to work on vehicles, hired me. I was doing okay, but I still wasn’t in my own shop.
Then Covid came around and like many other businesses, the one I was working for felt the impact of the majority of people staying home. We were considered essential, but when customers don’t drive, the hours get short.
My Success
Again, the investment I made in myself paid off. The Off-Road vehicles were not impacted by Covid, and my yard stayed hopping with Jeeps and trucks in all stages of abuse. When my side-hustle of wrenching in my yard began to pay more than working for someone else – it was finally my time to bring my dream to life.
It’s been a hard earned life, and in the middle of the trials I was blessed with being an involved father of four amazing kids. I’m proud of the example I am able to set for my children, and the realization of my dream… Wrench Blister’s Garage.
I truely thank you from the bottom of my heart, for your business.
